Mistaken Identity
'Hi' came an sms late one night,
'who's that?' unable to recall, I responded.
'Raj' came from the other side.
' Oh back from abroad?' enquired with delight.
'I was here only,' was the reply.
'Raj, my friend's husband is sure playing a prank,
With this thought, dialled the number that flashed.
It was snapped shut the next second.
'let's carry on with sms,' was repeated.
At this instant the doubt crept in.
Was it a prank played intentionally?
Or, from my side a mistaken identity?
For instantly I switched the phone off
Putting an end to the sms chat
What a fool I was, chidded myself
To carry on chat with a stranger like that.
